Smoothies are powerful.
Not only are they minimal effort to make, but they are quick, healthy and filling.
They are also the perfect way to get your five a day in one sitting, perfect for those who are always on the go.
This smoothie provides three of your five a day and is high in natural sugar, making it perfect for a mid morning pick me up. The banana provides a nice flavour, is full of potassium and magnesium which help to maintain a normal blood pressure. Bananas are also rich in tryptophan a compound that the body converts into serotonin, giving you lots of happy hormones!
Pineapple brings anti flammatory properties, high amounts of vitamins, and it’s ability to help prevent blood clots.
Kale creates the vivid colour.
It’s full of antioxidants, giving your body a massive dose of vitamin A, C and K, and helps lower blood cholesterol.
 
You will need:
1 banana.
1 cup of kale.
200g pineapple.
Add 1/2 cup of water into the blender.
Add the kale (without stalks).
Pulse.
Add the pineapple and banana (cut into chunks for easier blending).
Blitz until smooth.
Serve and enjoy!
